Course content
Our courses are structured in clear learning levels that you progress through at your own pace, adapted to your individual learning style.
You start with kite control and work step by step towards becoming an independent kitesurfer — directly on the water in front of our kite school on Lake Garda.

LEVEL 1 – Kite Control & Basics
20%
Your progress to becoming a kitesurfer
-
Basics of equipment, wind window, and safety
-
Safe kite control
-
Body drags in the water
After a theory session at our school, where you get to know the equipment and safety system, we head straight out onto Lake Garda by boat.
Before you get into the water, we practise kite control together from the motorboat. This helps you quickly understand how the kite reacts and how to handle it.
Once you’re ready, you enter the water. During your first body drags, you feel the power of the kite and learn to control it as you’re smoothly pulled across the water.
LEVEL 2 – Board Handling
40%
Your progress to becoming a kitesurfer
-
Control board and kite simultaneously in the water
-
Prepare your starting position
-
Retrieve the board using body drag
Now the board comes into play.
Controlling the kite while getting the board onto your feet is one of the biggest challenges at the beginning. We guide you step by step through correct board positioning and how to prepare for your water start.
Of course, the board may get away from you at first. That’s why you also learn how to recover it quickly and in a controlled way using an upwind body drag.

LEVEL 3 – Water Start & First Rides
60%
Your progress to becoming a kitesurfer
-
Water start with the board
-
First short rides
-
Practising starts in both directions
The moment you stand on the board for the first time stays with every kitesurfer.
With the right kite movement and timing, you get up from the water onto the board — and suddenly you’re riding your first metres. Usually, one direction works better than the other at first. That’s completely normal and improves with every repetition.
Riding your first metres also includes controlled stopping. That’s why we practise gently steering the kite back up and bringing you back into a seated position while maintaining control.
LEVEL 4 – Controlled Longer Rides
80%
Your progress to becoming a kitesurfer
-
Longer rides
-
Controlling your speed
-
Board control through edging
Once you can ride your first metres, it’s all about controlled kiting.
You learn to steer the board through edging and actively control your speed. This helps you feel more stable on the water and allows you to ride longer distances.
By edging the board correctly, you control your direction and start to hold your ground upwind instead of simply drifting downwind.

LEVEL 5 – Riding Upwind & Independent Kiting
100%
Your progress to becoming a kitesurfer
-
Confident riding in both directions
-
Riding upwind and returning to the starting point
-
Basic transitions
The key step towards becoming an independent kitesurfer: riding upwind.
With the right position of kite, board, and body, you can edge against the wind and feel how much control you have over the kite’s power through your board and body position.
Once you can ride upwind, you return to your starting point after every run and can kitesurf independently.

Course Structure
Each course day consists of one theory session and one practical session.
Theory & Simulation
Before heading out onto the water, your kitesurf course starts with a theory session tailored to your level at our school.
For beginners: We cover wind conditions, simulate kite control, and explain the safety system.
With prior experience: The theory is adapted to your level so you can get the most out of your kite course.
This personalised session lasts between 20 and 45 minutes, depending on your level.

Practical session — 60 sec video
Practical Session
WE HEAD OUT ONTO LAKE GARDA BY MOTORBOAT!
Now it’s time to put theory into practice. From the boat, we set up your kite so you can get started right away.
-
Kite control from the boat
If you’re new to kitesurfing, we begin with kite control on the boat. You learn how to steer the kite while sitting comfortably, with us right by your side to support you and help you progress quickly.
-
Radio instructions
Once you can control the kite safely, you move into the water while we guide you via radio. This way, you always have real-time support to improve your skills.
-
Boat-assisted lessons
From the very beginning, you’ll cover significant distances while learning to kitesurf. Our motorboat stays close at all times so we can reach you quickly whenever needed.
If you need a break, the boat picks you up and brings you back to the starting point — giving you time to rest and receive further instructions before heading out again.
Daily Schedule
Your First Day With Us
Your first course day always starts at 12:00 at our school.
At the beginning, we take some time to get to know each other and give you a brief overview of your kitesurf course before we get started together.
Theory Session
On Lake Garda, the wind usually doesn’t pick up before 13:00 — we use this time for your personalised theory session.
Beginners receive a comprehensive introduction to the fundamentals of kitesurfing.
Intermediate riders begin with a short assessment of their current level, and the theory is adapted accordingly.
Practical Session
As soon as the wind picks up, we head out onto the water. You’ll spend the next three hours on Lake Garda, with plenty of space and time to work on your kitesurfing skills.

From your second course day
On the following days, your course can take place either in the morning or in the afternoon.
Wind conditions on Lake Garda are very reliable.
We typically have two windows per day with good wind — morning and afternoon — although usually one of them is noticeably better.
That’s why we check the wind forecast every morning.
If conditions are good in the morning, we meet for the morning session.
If not, the wind will most likely pick up in the afternoon.
6:45 - Wind Check
Your instructor checks the current conditions and sends you a quick update.

VDWS Kitesurf License
VDWS Kitesurf License –What is it?
The VDWS (Association of German Watersports Schools) kitesurf license is an internationally recognised certificate that confirms your kitesurfing skills and knowledge. It proves that you have mastered the basic theory and practical skills of kitesurfing safely.
Why do I need it?
At some kitesurf spots, riding is only allowed with a VDWS Level 5 licence. Many kite schools also require this level if you want to rent kitesurf equipment.

How do I get the VDWS licence?
You can obtain the licence at a VDWS-certified kitesurf school. With us, it’s included in every 6-day course, or you can purchase it separately for €45. During the course, you will learn all the theoretical and practical skills required for the licence.
At the end of the course, you take a multiple-choice test covering key kitesurfing knowledge.
Your practical skills on the water are assessed during your kitesurf sessions throughout the course.
